I am having a mini meltdown. Wednesday, which is now tomorrow! I am doing a low pressure run through of My Needy Letters to Kieth Urban. And yet in my head I am feeling a lot of pressure!
My show has a wierd title because no one knows what’s in the letters. Maybe I should advertise the talking points contained in the letters:
I married into wealth.
My family isn’t overcome with joy.
I am a staty at home dad, which is the loneliest thing in the world.
Father dies in the hospital and my sister says I didn’t visit him enough.
A big gender neutral B-mitzvah receives mixed reviews.
My goal is to sell merch, have a big life like my hero, Keith Urban.
I find all of these things interesting, entertaining and also painful. Part of me wants to do my show and part of me wants to shut myself down. It’s like pressing on the gas and slamming on the breaks at the same time.
Anyway, I’m working through it, and excited for my show tomorrow. It’s not even just this one show. It’s the process of creating something great that I can share with people as it evolves.
I know, I’m a little full of myself. That’s the territory one man shows, which I am invading.
